Kaarina-Teatteri

Kaarina-Teatteri is an active amateur theatre established by local theatre enthusiasts in 1983. The theatre has 3–4 premieres per year and, in addition to its own production, it hosts visiting performances. The theatre facilities can also be hired for meetings and events.

In autumn 2021, Kaarina-Teatteri produces a play based on short stories written by the famous Finnish author Tove Jansson. The play is entitled ‘Kaksi naista ja meri’ (Two ladies and the sea) and it is presented from 24 September to 20 November 2021.

Author: Tove Jansson
Translator and dramaturgist: Pipsa Lonka
Director: Mikko Rantanen.

The play is a love story that begins where other love stories end. It is based on a collection of fictitious short stories by Tove Jansson, entitled Rent Spel (1989).
