Järvelä wetland
Järvelä wetland (Järvelän kosteikko in Finnish) is located north of the Littoistenjärvi lake in northern Kaarina.
The wetland, or actually a flooded field that came into existence in 2009, has in a short time grown into one of the top bird sanctuaries in Southwestern Finland. In 2019, it was recognised as one of the most species-rich area in the province. In 2013, a bridge for bird-watchers was built, with a ramp for accessibility. As the bridge is so close to the wetland, it is possible to observe birds at a close distance, thus making Järvelä wetland and excellent natural attraction for children with families.
